Tonight!

Tonight there will be no show, as we will all be busy exploding all over Die! Die! Die! at GBM. We hope you understand, and perhaps we will see you there.

Listen in next week, when we return to the usual depravity.

The Freaks

Here are, as suggested, my playlists from the last two weeks. I shall check later if we have a podcast for this week just been. As much as we want to make it easy for you, nothing beats the experience of actually listening to the show early morning/late at night. Last week was probably our best week yet, in spite of my lack of pre-organisation. Next week may very well be even better. You'll have to watch and see.

"I really like rigorous music. I would much rather go to a concert where the music doesn't work but it's clear the composer is trying to do something, than to see someone who's very nicely playing out the same old scenario one more time and doing it very well. You have to realise I'm about as jaded as jaded can get. I've just spent my life doing nothing but thinking about this stuff. Can you imagine how perverted my sensibility must be? And you poor guys have to listen to probably the most condensed extract of music - there is so much going on per measure, for my perverse ears, because I write music totally for myself." - Glenn Branca

Tomorrow my playlist will feature an array of artists from the New York art-punk-underground scene, focusing on, but not limited to the late 70's-early 80's. From the early proto-punk foundations laid by the Velvet Underground, Patti Smith, and the New York Dolls, to middle-70's CBGB scene (Ramones, Television, Dead Boys, Blondie, Suicide), to the move avant-garde roots of the No Wave movement (Theoretical Girls, Mars, Swans), and a glimpse into the future they set forth (Sonic Youth) I hope to have something for everybody and nobody alike.

Tune in and tune out.

Stick with us...

Slack? We may be, but we'll pretend that that is just because we've been really busy moving into our new apartment and playing with guitars. Playlists for last week will be up in the next day or two; no podcast, sorry, as we are still getting used to the new system where we have to turn the recording on ourselves, instead of just relying on OOS.
