Tomorrow my playlist will feature an array of artists from the New York art-punk-underground scene, focusing on, but not limited to the late 70's-early 80's. From the early proto-punk foundations laid by the Velvet Underground, Patti Smith, and the New York Dolls, to middle-70's CBGB scene (Ramones, Television, Dead Boys, Blondie, Suicide), to the move avant-garde roots of the No Wave movement (Theoretical Girls, Mars, Swans), and a glimpse into the future they set forth (Sonic Youth) I hope to have something for everybody and nobody alike.

Tune in and tune out.

I made a playlist for tonight, and it was pretty good, albeit a little standard for our show. It sickens me that I am overcome by feelings like this just a few weeks in. So I destroyed the playlist, and have composed a little piece which I will play tonight instead. If you tune in, and it seems like your radio is doing things it shouldn't, that's probably because you are listening to my piece. It runs at just over an hour, so please be patient, open your mind, and enter and exit at your own free will. I hope you enjoy.

Here is the 'podcast'/mp3 of last week's show. It starts with an argument about just who's show it is now, and a track from Hollan. Special guest DJ Ross Brighton plays a lot of black metal, and some good songs as well. Technology fails us and I have to cover for it with something for our dolphin listeners. We get a caller and don't know what to do. Ross, Timmy, and I read some things that we wrote, and insist that we are worse than the other two. Duran Duran finish us off.

This week, we'll be re-educating my friend Danny who thinks that Health are a good example of avant garde noise rock, and not shitty tribal metal with occasional feedback. To be covered will be the fact that being noisy and loud doesn't make it 'noise'; that to be avant garde one must actually try something new; and that Health heard a bad experimental track being made, (while someone else was playing Slayer next door) and thought that that was the intended outcome of the experiment. Sometimes experiments go horribly wrong, and wen they do, it's a poor idea to base one's sound on that.

So there will be Dead C, Harry Pussy, Babar, and much more. Naturally there will be a few other things in there too, like Bowie, Burroughs, and less rocky noise.

This weeks show (morning of Friday 19th) will be very special. We'll be having two hours of avant garde poetry readings and recordings, experimental sound art, free noise, and a whole lot of other stuff. Special guest(s) include poet Ross Brighton and maybe (probably not) others. Haven't worked out the playlist etc. yet, as we're not sure how it's going to go down timewise.

Shit, if anyone wants to send us any of their poems to read, recordings of them doing their own stuff, pretty much anything - PLEASE DO - we will be happy to include it.
